Singer/songwriter Jocelyn Faro’s passion for storytelling has provided a reliable compass throughout her budding musical career. Raised in a home with a variety of music on the dial, Faro quickly came to appreciate the diversity of artists.
That Faro’s acoustic guitar work is rhythmically captivating and her singing voice luxuriant only serve to round out that one-two punch so coveted by practitioners of her craft. Steeped in the soulful tradition of songwriters like John Mayer and Lauryn Hill, Faro’s subtle, bluesy voice recalls the easy delivery of artists such as Norah Jones, with the unique ability to channel the funky staccato of modern acts such as Maroon 5. Learning to play guitar in high school, led to performances at a number of talent shows and open mics, where Faro cut her teeth before rising through the ranks of the Maryland metropolitan venues. Faro has since appeared at major sites such as AMP at Strathmore, Rams Head On Stage, Rams Head Live, Jammin Java and Rechers Theater. She enjoys the raw energy of a bar/club, but loves the intimacy and audience connection possible within a concert venue.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Faro is an active member in the community, performing at fundraisers and events to support groups such as Relay for Life, the ALS Association and Four Diamonds Fund. She also participates in Musicians on Call, providing live in-room entertainment for patients at local hospitals.
