MusArt Interconnections: Piano Fantasy

Here is a highlight of her amazing performance at the Cape Cod Museum of Art.

Praised for her ability to “capture hearts” by Musical America, pianist Ana Glig (a.k.a. Gligvashvili) is an award-winning concert pianist, praised for her dynamic and versatile stage presence. Glig has has performed widely in the United States as well as Europe, including her native Georgia. As an orchestra soloist Glig performed with Evgeni Mikeladze and Rishon LeZion Symphonic Orchestras in Israel and Georgia.
Prize winner of the Tel-Hai International Piano Concerto Competition (Israel) and Georgian Musician-Performers Competition, Glig is also a recipient of Alfred Cortot’s prize for the best interpretation of romantic music.

Glig’s love for synthesis for music and art has led her to found series of concert-projects entitled ‘MusArt Interconnections.’
Born in Telavi, Georgia, Ana’s first musical impressions trace back to her family and her musician aunt, who exposed her to piano at the age of two. Since then she developed particular love for Georgian polyphonic singing and classical music.

As a piano duo, Glig collaborates with her husband, pianist James Rosenblum for specially occasions. The couple have given concerts in the United States and Ana’s native Georgia.

Glig holds Master’s degree in piano performance from Mannes School of Music-The New School and Bachelor’s degree from Tbilisi State Conservatory (Republic of Georgia). She studied with Victor Rosenbaum, Jerome Rose, Revaz Tavadze and Marine Gelashvili among others. Glig is an alumni of the NYU Steinhardt, New York University, where she studied piano performance and pedagogy with Eteri Andjaparidze. At NYU Glig also served as a member of the adjunct piano faculty.

Currently Ana resides in Harwich, Massachusetts, where she continues to perform, teach and compose. Among her favorite hobbies are road cycling and running.
