Product Description
As an NYC studio singer, Stacey has had the privilege of singing on tracks for radio commercials, television series and for artists like Chaka Khan. She counts her influences from the Great American Songbook and the Harlem Renaissance as well as the Bossa Nova and Samba movements of Brazil. Alan Schulman is a noted jazz guitarist from Cincinnati, Ohio who studied with the late great guitarist Cal Collins (formerly of the Benny Goodman Orchestra). Alan holds a Masters degree in Jazz Arranging & Composition from Howard University in Washington DC and has appeared with such noted jazz artists as Anita Baker, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis & Michael Feinstein. Together, Alan & Stacey’s debut release “A Love like Ours” was recorded and produced by the couple in Italy and released by ‘Night Night the Elephant’ Productions.
Stacey & Alan released their debut CD, “A Love Like Ours”, on May 22, 2015, donating all proceeds of the CD’s sale to the Global Lyme Alliance to raise awareness about Lyme Disease and support Chronic Lyme Disease research. Stacey contracted Lyme Disease five years ago while hiking in northwestern New Jersey. Through a series of misdiagnoses all too common with Lyme patients, the disease went undetected long enough to become fully disseminated, impacting her neurological system, causing an asymmetry in her vocal chords and leaving her unable to sing for the better portion of two years while undergoing treatment. Together with her husband, Alan, the couple recorded their debut CD in Italy while Ms. Schulman convalesced after extensive Lyme disease therapy. Although Ms.Schulman still battles Lyme, she has recovered significantly. It is the couple’s hope that the efforts surrounding the CD release will raise funds for more research and bring hope to Chronic Lyme patients who want to get back to leading productive, happy lives.
